Pigeons are a familiar sight in many cities. Like their wild relatives, they rely on rocky structures—so they build their nests under bridges, on building ledges, and prefer rooftops, walls, and window sills. The reason they populate cities in such large numbers is entirely due to human influence. Pigeons have been bred for centuries for purposes such as messenger services or competitive racing. Many of them never find their way back to their lofts and become "urban pigeons"—if they even survive their involuntary journeys. These birds are not wild animals but rather feral domesticated animals and their descendants.

In our cities, these homeless birds struggle to survive every day. They are forced to feed on discarded scraps, which does not meet their nutritional needs and often makes them ill. Finding safe places to sleep and nest is another constant challenge. On top of all that, these fascinating individuals face widespread prejudice and rejection—mostly due to a lack of awareness about the true causes of urban pigeon populations. Yet pigeons did not choose this life, and contrary to common myths, they are no more of a health risk than any other wild or domestic animals.

Last year, by popular request, we paid tribute to our feathered neighbors with a pigeon-themed t-shirt. Now, we are continuing this awareness campaign with this embroidered fanny pack. Each bag is embroidered by us on-site and made from sustainably grown cotton and recycled materials.
