This is not the Krusty Krab in Bikini Bottom, but perhaps a not-too-distant future scenario in coastal cities. However, the operators already have something in common with Mr. Krabs: greed and the processing of sentient beings into food.
This postcard features the painting “Flut II” which translates as "Flood II" by animal rights activist and painter Hartmut Kiewert. Printed in DIN A6 format (105 × 148 mm) on high-quality 300 g recycled cardboard, it combines a strong political statement with artistic craftsmanship.

Hartmut Kiewert uses his powerful paintings to push the boundaries of what we imagine to be possible. His works depict utopian scenarios in which humans no longer oppress, exploit, or kill other animals or their environment. This becomes particularly striking in his urban landscapes, where beings – usually divided into categories such as “pets,” “farm animals,” “wild animals,” or “humans” – share public space peacefully and on equal footing.
Beyond human–animal relations, Kiewert also addresses themes such as performance-driven society, the climate crisis, and mobility transitions. The animals in his paintings never appear to act out of coercion, but rather out of free will—they linger, relax, and enjoy life. In doing so, his work both challenges anthropocentric perspectives and opens up new, empathetic ways of relating to other sentient beings, while simultaneously pointing toward alternatives to a system shaped by exploitation, domination, and capitalist constraints.
