Preguntando Caminamos is a 100 % Arabica Espresso sold by the Aroma Zapatista Collective from Hamburg. The coffee is grown by the cooperatives Yochin Tayel K'inal und Yachil Xojobal Chulchán in Chiapas, México and roasted by the collective la gota negra in Hamburg.
la gota negra is part of an autonomous living project in Hamburg - they live and work together. They use non-industrial drum roasting. The collective produces small amounts compared to big companies which means a higher price - which is okay for them and for us: the coffee is fair trade, produced, imported and distributed by co-operatives and collectives. Honestly, no-one becomes rich :) If the la gota negra collective produces a surplus they'll give the money to other (collective) companies who were involved in generating it - especialls to the producers of the coffee beans.

The Aroma Zapatista coffees are always grown by Zapatista Cooperatives from indigenous communities and they are imported under fair conditions and in respectful cooperation (guaranteed purchase price higher than Fair Trade level) by the Aroma Zapatista Collective. Now you can get it in our online shop, so in buying this coffee you show solidarity with the Zapatista rebels fighting for dignity and justice and support alternative economies.
